What is the order number?

- Report any problems to the courier

What is the order ID?
The Order ID is a unique identifier assigned to each order created on an eCommerce website. The identifier is used to track the order’s progress from the point of purchase to the point of delivery throughout its lifecycle. The order ID consists of three pieces of information: the SKU (Stock Keeping Unit), the date, and the quantity.
After an order is placed on the eCommerce website, a unique order ID is generated to track the order from when it was placed to when it was fulfilled. The order ID consists of three pieces of information:

- Order date.
- Order quantity.
A customer can place the order with specific SKUs in a cart and then change their mind and cancel the order. When the order is canceled, the order ID is automatically removed. But if the customer places a new order, the old order ID is reused for the new order.

- If the SKU has been reserved for the customer, the customer can only place the order after the SKU is free.
- The customer can place the order with a new SKU.
The first scenario means that the customer’s order is placed immediately after the SKU becomes available. The second scenario means that the customer’s order is placed after the new SKU is reserved for the customer.
The order ID has a special purpose. The eCommerce system uses it to track orders. By using the order ID, you can find out what the order’s status is. If you want to change the status of an order, you can use the order ID to set the order’s new status.
Who can access the order number?
The vendors have access to the order number in general. Providing the customer’s order number gives them access to this information. You can inform your customer about the order number in several different ways. Here are some examples:

- Access your admin panel. Since you are using WordPress CMS, you can access the admin panel by entering the URL in the following format: https://yoursite.com/wp-admin.

How do you track orders without an order ID?
